Meet Jellie – a talented young musician and spoken word artist who puts her heart into her craft. Her passion for writing started off at a very young age, from short songs, poems, to short stories. She eventually found love in composing her own songs years after as she began playing the guitar. With her awe-inspiring talent, she also had created her first band in that same year. Despite being disbanded after a year and a half, she had never stopped pursuing what she really loves. After some time, she shifted orgs from culinary to creative writing, which made her start writing spoken poetry. Her songs and pieces are about love, may it be self-love or romantic love, along with those in which she had advocacies for such as with mental health, feminism, LGBTQ+, and everything in between. She tries to tell the story of all kinds of truths because she strongly believes that there is always more than one truth. With her passion and art, Jellie had been guesting and performing for a series of mental-health awareness events, and some other gigs around the metro.
As Jellie being passionate in creating pieces about love and everything under its broad spectrum, her new single entitled “Kind of Love,” portrays a distinctive story about breaking up that leans onto understanding the other side of the usual. She wishes to share this with an audience to enlighten and give a glimpse of positivity to somehow inspire them.
Along with the much-awaited release of her newest single “Kind of Love,” Jellie will also be celebrating her artist launch as a singer-songwriter and spoken word artist on August 31, 2018, 8 PM at Route 196, Katipunan Ave., Quezon City. Joining her in this upcoming event are Ben&Ben, Bullet Dumas, Bea Lorenzo, Jones Revistual, and Sofia Paderes—musicians and spoken word artists that share the same beliefs and advocacies with her, which is effectively represented in their craft.
