SPOTTED: Mayon Volcano spewing lava at 4AM yesterday, January 21

Even if safety precautions had to be in check nowadays especially with Mayon Volcano acting up lately, budding photographer Jomar Oco took advantage of the moment of capturing the beauty of the Volcano when he visited Bicol last weekend.

Encapsulating the landscape of Mayon in the photo is a glorious sky full of stars.

The photo was taken at exactly 4:43 AM yesterday, January 21, according to Oco.

“I went Albay this weekend with my Father after namin mabalitaan na nasa Alert level 3 na yung Mayon Volcano.
We arrived at Albay by 9:30 pm and we stayed at Legazpi Boulevard hoping for a nice view of Mayon Volcano but was unfortunate to see the Volcano clearly. We tried to look for other spots before the sunrise until we finally ended up at Cagsawa Ruins by 4 am and tried to capture the Lava Flow of Mayon Volcano with the bright stars. Yung puyat and pagod ng biyahe is worth it, especially first time ko maka witness ng ganito.”

To residents nearby Mayon area, stay safe!
