Hold tight, because a Spice Girls movie is in the works — and yes, even Victoria Beckham is in on it!
Paramount Animation has dropped the big announcement that it will be bringing together the iconic 90s girl group for an animated film set to be released in 2020. According to Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria, all five Spice Girls “had an idea that we’ve been developing” and confirmed that they are all “very involved” in the story and the production.
Probably the best part that fans will very much enjoy about the upcoming feature is that it will include Spice Girls hits and classics, as well as new songs!
The movie will be produced by the band’s manager, Simon Fuller, and written by Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith.
The Spice Girls have previously worked together on a movie released in 1997 titled Spice World, which depicts a series of fictional events leading up to their major concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. All five girls, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, and Victoria Beckham, played as themselves.
