If you wannabe happy today, read on: the Spice Girls are back in the studio and recording new songs!
Geri Horner (formerly Halliwell), Emma Bunton, and Melanie Brown, formerly known as Ginger, Baby, and Scary Spice, have spent time together earlier this week in Play Deep Studios in London to record new material. According to reports, a new album will be launched this year in time for the 20th anniversary of their debut single”Wannabe”.
Brown posted an Instagram photo of the three girls, with the caption:ย “And I say oohhhh LALA”.
Sadly, Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Melanie Chisholm (Sporty) were not part of the recording, as Beckham is busy with her upcoming collection withย Estee Lauder and Chisholm is pursuingย her solo career.
A few months ago, Brown revealed that the girls are planning a reunion tour for 2017. Beckham’s representative told TMZย that she is not joining, saying,ย “She has been very respectful about the fabulous time they had together in the past, however her focus is now very much her family and fashion business.”
Beckham recently revealed that producers intentionally turned off her mic during live shows. She said, “[Producers] used to turn [my mic] off and just let the others sing.ย I got the last laugh, and now my mic is well โ and truly on, finally.”
The Spice Girls was an English girl group formed in 1994. They have sold over 80 million records worldwide,ย making them the best-selling female group of all time and theย biggest British pop phenomenon since the Beatles.
As they say: Viva forever, I’ll be waiting, everlasting like the sun. And we hope Beckham will change her mind. A Spice Girlsย reunion wouldn’t be complete without Posh’s fierce poses.
