Valentine’s is one of those holidays that always has you wracking your brain for something original to do. It somehow feels like every gift and date idea is a cliche. This year, that dilemma is easily solved by the two shows that Resorts World Manila has lined up at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
They say that laughter and love will fill the air this Valentine’s season at Resort’s World Manila — and they mean that literally. First, a standup comedy show for those who celebrate love through humor. This is for couples, friends, or families who see that joy is one of the purest manifestations of love.
“Trumperte ATBP.”, a political satire about the trying times we live in today, will make you laugh and squirm in your seats (if the preview we were given is anything to go by). With Jon Santos at the helm of the show, you can expect fantastic impressions of personalities like MACDonald Trump and Digong DutertHIRTY-HARI from the country’s ‘most prolific’ impersonator.
Comedic collaborators Eric Nicolas and Marissa Sanchez complete the show, with Michael Williams as director. The show is slated for February 13, 2019 (Wednesday) at 8pm.
The second event they have in store for you is a reminder that music is one of the greatest products of love. “Master of Love”, a concert featuring the greatest love songs ever, is sure to bring back the sweet notes of love in whatever relationship you’re celebrating. Featured songs from Basil Valdez, Hajji Alejandro, and Rico J. Puno are sure to evoke the strongest of emotions.
With Ogie Alcasid, OPM hitmaker, at the center of the concert you can expect to be swooning and sighing all night. Accompanying him is Maestro Ryan Cayabyab who was, of course, recently named National Artist of the Philippines. Joining them are the Ryan Cayabyab Singers and chanteuses Mariel de Leon, Lara Maigue, and Tanya Manalang.
The show will take place on February 14, 2019 (Thursday) at 8pm.
