This October 22, 2016, 7pm onwards, at 121 Allegro Restaurant Bar & Grille, Pasong Tamo Ext., Makati City, World Extravaganza, a community organization of musician an artists, will hold and event we call:
“Soundscape II: Sleepless Nights for Troubled Minds,” a night through music and art therapy to raise awareness on mental health and suicide prevention.
This October, through distorted guitars, thumping drums and fretful vocal pleas, we shout out loud as we raise awareness on mental health and suicide prevention!
Together with 6 indie Emo alternative/pop-rock bands and music acts influenced by the melodic, expressive and confessional lyrics of emo music, we fight the stigma associated with depression and suicide, and provide support and education regarding mental illness.
The headlining band, December Avenue, will be supported by up and coming indie acts, Jonathan Sibay, Emergency Break Glass, Symmetry and Persona.
There will also be an art market featuring dark and macabre art pieces from promising local visual artists, Ruth Cavin, Christa Vega, Glen Bawan, Rej Santalices and Salad Studio.
A drawing contest will be the starting point of the night which will be lead by the ambient music of Erick Fabian Sr. of Cerumentric. Paper and pencils will be provided.
Two spoken word artists, Melissa Lacson and Paolo Dumlao, will share their poems as intermission.
The Soundscape concept is a themed monthly to bi-monthly showcase event based on current news and events that features an established local band together with up and coming musicians who attend World Extravaganza’s Open Mic Tuesdays at Frank & Dean, BGC and Thursdays at 121, Pasong Tamo Extension.
