There’s nothing like a weekend outing and road trip to La Union with the whole barkada, especially when you’re all staying in the same fun and cozy place. Road trips with the whole friend group becomes even more unforgettable when your accommodation adds to the exciting experiences.
The next time you’re planning a quick vacation to San Juan, La Union with the besties, book a stay at Solana San Juan.
Solana San Juan is a beach home for rent, nestled just a few minutes’ walk away from the famous San Juan beach. It’s a family-owned property sitting on a land owned by the Avecilla family for several generations. The family only built a beach home on the lot last year, and ultimately decided to start a business as well.
It has such a great location that you can enjoy the famous La Union sunset from the property. It’s also a tricycle ride away from the town’s public market, so if you’re traveling via public transportation, it’s easy to get to Solana as well.
If you’re bringing your own car, the property has a spacious parking lot for all the cars you’re going to bring.
Solana has 5 separate rooms available for rent. In the main establishment, there are 3 rooms available to rent separately. Each room has two bunk beds, accommodating up to 8 people per room. There’s also a work station and a private bathroom in every room.
We’d recommend booking Room 3 (located on the second floor) for the better view. There’s also a common area on the same floor where you can eat meals, work while the sea breeze blows against your face, or just enjoy the sunset view.
If you’re traveling in a smaller group and interested to experience a more provincial vibe, there’s also the Solana Kubos on the property that are good for 2–4 people. Guests of the kubo can use the common bathroom.
Their newly-built building, Solana Sands, has two separate (very spacious) rooms that can each accommodate at least 6 people. Both also have private bathrooms.
All guests of Solana have access to the common dining area and common kitchen. The kitchen already has complete cookware, a water dispenser (free for all guests!), and a full-sized fridge so that you can store all your meals. Every room also has a provided ice chest which you can also use for extra food storage; plus a storage box with a rice cooker, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and a chopping board. This way, you don’t have to share cookware with other guests—just the kitchen.
They also provide 2 grillers so you can have freshly grilled barbecue or seafood, just make sure to bring your own charcoal, too.
Solana makes sure every guest enjoys their beach trip because they also lend out beach kits for free! These kits include a foldable beach chair, a beach mat, and a tote bag where you can put your towels, clothes, or even beach snacks. We loved this simple yet thoughtful gesture, because I admittedly always forget to bring a beach mat when I’m on a beach trip.
And if you’re planning on staying up late at night for heart-to-heart conversations with your friends, you can do so by the free fire pit. What’s a barkada road trip to the beach without an intimate bonfire session, anyway?
Solana is pet-friendly, so don’t worry about leaving your fur babies at home while you enjoy your vacation.
They’re also partnered with Elements ATV La Union which offers ATV rental and surfing lessons—both of which you can enjoy near the Solana property.
