Since 2007, Sofitel Philippine Plaza has been doing projects to help raise funds for Virlanie Foundation in support of the foundation’s benevolent acts to reach out to the less fortunate children and their families of Metro Manila. On the Leg 1 of Sofitel Runrio Battle of the Sexes last March 2013, Sofitel Philippine Plaza and Runrio, Inc. were able to raise Php 755,000.00 which was used to purchase a van for the activities of Virlanie Foundation. Sofitel Runrio Battle of the Sexes Leg 2 aims to redefine running by having a unique concept of MALE VS FEMALE competition while encouraging the public to reach out and help the less fortunate.

Sofitel Runrio Battle of the Sexes Leg 2 Race Details:

When: September 1, 2013, Sunday

Where: Block 16, SM Mall of Asia

Beneficiary: Virlanie Foundation

Race Mechanics: FEMALE runners will run first with a head start of 3 minutes for the 5k and 7 minutes for the 10k which will be followed by the MALE runners afterwards, battling which gender will win the race. There will only be one winner per category.
