Locked down and quarantined for a couple of months now, the COVID-19 pandemic widely affected a huge part of our community. May it be from work, academics, or even self-care and mental health, it is still a challenge for most of us to adjust and adapt to the new normal. However, not everyone is given the opportunity to swiftly face what we are all facing. Every day, numbers of families struggle to sustain their lives and even to attain their basic needs.
For years, Make A Difference has been an ongoing charity initiative of the UP Streetdance Club to go to various communities and share the gift of dance to children who do not have the means to do so. The project centers on giving these children (M.A.D. Kids) the opportunity to learn and support them with their needs as students as well as to improve the quality of living they very much desire.
The UP Streetdance Club now has established the Make A Difference: MAD Drive as an initiative to help provide for the M.A.D. Kids and their families in this time of need. Currently, 22 families are in need of your support and through this drive, the team will be able to give relief goods and also support the children with their learning. To reach 70,000 Pesos is equivalent to a month’s worth that will be used to aid our communities in Payatas, Sampaloc, and Smokey Mountain.
A small donation can make a big difference in a child’s life. Now, more than ever, the M.A.D. Kids need all the help that they can get amidst the grueling times that we live in right now.
