The SM Group announced that they are pledging Php100M to help the battle against COVID-19 in the Philippines.

The said amount will be used for PPE’s or Personal Protective Equipment, test kits, alcohol and other supplies needed in Philippine General Hospital and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine just to name a few.

“As there is a local shortage of personal protective equipment – face masks, gowns, visors, hoods, gloves, and shoe covers, SM is bringing these PPEs in for government hospitals who badly need them,” it said in their official statement.

SM had communicated with Manila Healthtek Inc to help the University of the Philippines-National Institute of Health researchers to manufacture and distribute the test kits for free for government hospitals.
