Singer-songwriter Stephen Ku has passed away.
On Twitter and Facebook, there has been an outpouring of grief and tributes from friends and fans of the music artist. Stephen maintained a successful music career as the lead vocalist for several independent bands through the years and was even mentored by the late legendary artist manager Wyngard Tracy, who managed the likes of Side A & Freestyle in the past. He wrote his first hit single “Kapit Lang,” an inspirational song about hope and finding strength, with Top Suzara of Freestyle during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and released his second single “Pasko Nga Ba?” under Warner Music Philippines last December 2021.

We lost a good one today. RIP @StephenKu, who I had the honor of partnering with for the @disclosure and Whitest Boy Alive shows in Manila. I don’t think I know anyone as dedicated as he was to making sure Manila was having a good time. ❤️
