When in Manila, we have the Philippine Blog Awards and the Globe Tatt Awards, which both are prestigious celebrations where we tip our hats off to the best of the best and the most influential digital publishers in the country. In Singapore, they have the Singapore Blog Awards that aims to “honour tireless ‘new age wordsmith’ who devote much time and energy in maintaining informative, regularly updated and innovative blogs, often out of interest rather than for personal gains.“

On its fifth year, the Singapore Blog Awards 2012 as presented by Panasonic will be held on July 21, 2012, 1-4 PM to commend bloggers from all walks of niche — be it food, travel, lifestyle, fashion, photography, or anything that rocked the digital world. Singaporean bloggers go neck and neck against each other to bag the Singapore Blog Awards title, the prizes, and the bragging rights for the categories they are nominated. But hey, being nominated makes everyone a winner already eh?

The Singapore Blog Awards 2012 has 10 Main Award Categories, 2 Celebrity Categories, and 3 Special Categories. The 10 Main Award Categories are:

Best Photography Blog
Best Y-Bloggist
Best Fashion Blog
Best Food Blog
Best What-the-Hell Blog
Best Individual Blog
Best Travel Blog
Best Family Blog
Best V-log

The 2 Celebrity Categories include:

Most Popular Overseas Celebrity Blog/Microblog
Most Popular Local Celebrity Blog/Microblog

And the 3 Special Categories are:

For this year, 15 international bloggers were invited to attend the Singapore Blog Awards 2012, which will be held at the Singapore Flyer. Five bloggers are from the Philippines, six are from Malaysia, and four are from Hong Kong. The invited bloggers will be provided with a 3D/2N free Singapore hotel accommodation at a hotel under the Far East Hospitality Group from July 20 to July 22, 2012.
