Shows and Movies to Look Forward to on Disney Plus

Disney Plus has finally been released in the US, Canada, and the Netherlands. And although the streaming service still isn’t available on our shores, that doesn’t mean we can’t live vicariously through those who are currently experiencing it. We’ve rounded up some of the shows and movies on Disney Plus that people are currently going crazy about, so you can look forward to them when the app finally reaches the Philippines.

Shows and Movies to Look Forward to on Disney Plus

Most Marvel Movies

marvel avengers

Yes, I say most. Some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies aren’t available to stream on Disney Plus because the distribution rights of some of them are owned by other studios, while four more are currently exclusively on Netflix until their streaming deals expire.

Old School Marvel Cartoons

If you used to watch X-Men cartoons in the 90s, get excited because Disney Plus includes the 90s X-Men cartoons, as well as other Marvel animated series, such as Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, and Incredibly Hulk. Even the short-lived Silver Surfer cartoon is on Disney Plus.

Other Old School Cartoons

The Simpsons

Remember Bonkers? What about Mighty Ducks, Ducktales, and Gargoyles? All of these old school cartoons of our childhood are available on Disney Plus, including The Simpsons, Darkwing Duck, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.

Older Disney Movies

Peter Pan

Aside from ‘Dumbo’, ‘Jungle Book’ and ‘Peter Pan’, you can even find ‘Steamboat Willie’ on the app, the 1928 black and white cartoon starring Mickey Mouse steering a steamboat down a river.

Disney Channel Shows

Miss That’s So Raven? They’ve got it. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody? Check. And yes, Lizzie McGuire is there, too! They even have Jonas for all my fellow Jonas Brothers lovers out there.

New Disney Originals

They’ve gotten the hype, and we want to see them. The ‘Lady and the Tramp’ live action movie starring real rescue dogs. ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ – which, really, I personally don’t understand the need for, but still wanna see what it’s like. And of course, ‘The Mandalorian’, the Star Wars series about a lone gunfighter following the stories of Jango Fett and Boba Fett in the Star Wars movies.

There is no exact launch date for Disney Plus in Asia, but previous reports have said that it could become available late this year or early 2020. Are you as excited for it as we are?
