Globe is set to break new ground with the launch of its Globe ICONIC retail store, and it is opening this innovative space with a bang as it hosts the gala premiere and first PH production of hit Broadway musical, Green Day’s American Idiot.

On opening night, guests will be treated to an evening of high-octane performances that at the same time highlights the features of the ICONIC’s state-of-the-art entertainment facility. Lucky Globe customers get to win tickets to this exciting event by subscribing to, or renewing their Globe Postpaid plans.
Customers who subscribe to or renew with a myLifestyle Plan 999 and up until June 22, 2016 are automatically eligible to win two (2) tickets to American Idiot. Globe will be raffling off these tickets to over 200 postpaid customers. Green Day’s American Idiot will be staged at the biggest outdoor theater set-up in the country that is also a permanent feature of the ICONIC. Boasting a pioneering design, the ICONIC will not just be a retail hub, but also an entertainment destination equipped with groundbreaking technology. It is a fully operational entertainment venue that will be able to hold big events such as plays, concerts, major corporate events, and the like.
This entertainment facility is only the first of 2 major phases of the ICONIC that also houses 2 massive ‘Times Square’-like LED screens. By September, customers will again witness the launch of the 2nd phase which is the actual retail hub that will sit on opposite sides of the BGC Central amphitheater, linked by a glass bridge.
American Idiot showcases a star-studded talent roster headlined by Basti Artadi of Wolfgang, Miggy Chavez of Chicosci, former Rivermaya vocalists, Jason Fernandez and Norby David, and veteran thespian Nel Gomez. The musical is about the journey of three young men as they face the harsh realities of the world around them – a symbolic post-9/11 America – where they must face the challenges of love, teen pregnancy, war, drugs, and loss. The musical is set to the incredibly biting and riveting music of Green Day that features a surprisingly profound understanding of the pains and frustrations of today’s youth.
