Pinoy Pride! Romulo Café was named as London’s Most Loved Restaurant in 2016 at the annual Time Out Love London Awards.
The restaurant, which only opened its doors 8 months ago at Kensington High Street, won among nine other shortlisted restaurants, including Coya for Mayfair; Dishoom for Covent Garden and The Strand, and The Ivy Chelsea Garden for Chelsea.
Romulo Café has quickly drawn crowds as they present heirloom Filipino recipes and is owned by Rowena Romulo, the granddaughter of the late Carlos P. Romulo.
The café counts among its regulars diplomats from the Philippine Embassy, businessmen, Filipino tourists, nurses, teachers, and anyone willing to discover Filipino food.
The opening of the restaurant could not have been any timelier, in the midst of people constantly on the lookout for the next food trends.
