Ricky Lee Extends Online Scriptwriting Class to 3 Batches After Over 1,200 People Apply

Renowned writer Ricky Lee is holding an online scriptwriting class amid the month-long quarantine! But after so many people from different parts of the world sent in applications, he is extending his class to three batches—the first of which will be beginning their session this month of April.

Lee expressed his gratitude on a Facebook post in which he revealed that he received applications from over 1,200 hopefuls—many of whom came from countries other than the Philippines.

(“My deepest thanks to the over 1,200 people who applied for my online scriptwriting workshop, many of whom came from different parts not only of the Philippines but of the world, like Poland, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Japan.”)

He shared that 33 of his former filmmaking students helped him filter the entries, each of which was read by at least two others aside from Lee himself.

He then announced that instead of holding one batch of 50 students, he will be holding three classes of 65 students each in April, May, and June.

Lee also included all the names of the first batch, who will be taking part in the sessions on April 15, 22, and 29, on his post.

Sa mga hindi nakasama sa listahan sa ibaba, huwag kayo mag-alala, babalikan namin kayo in the future para ma-accommodate pa rin namin kayo,” he assured.

(“To those who are not included in the list below, don’t worry, we will get back to you in the future so that we can accommodate you as well.”)
