Rick May, voice actor from Team Fortress 2 and Star Fox, passes away

Video game voice actor Rick May has passed away at the age of 79. He was best known for voicing Peppy Hare in Nintendo’s Star Fox games and the Soldier in Valve’s Team Fortress 2.

May suffered a stroke earlier this year and was rehabilitating in a nursing home. Unfortunately, he was infected with COVID-19 at the home and was transferred to the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. May lost his battle to COVID-19.

His death was reported by the Rekindle School, an independent art, acting, and film school in Seattle, where May was an acting teacher.

May’s other video game credits include Freddi Fish 5, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. He served as the artistic director of the Renton Civic Theater and Civic Light Opera. He also directed or appeared in over 300 shows including Fiddler on the Roof, Death of a Salesman, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Odd Couple, and Cotton Patch Gospel.
