This coming January 27 to 29, 2022, The UP Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students, Inc. (UP ALCHEMES) will hold its annual flagship event, Research Fair, one of the countryโs largest research events for high school students. Celebrating its 21st year, the event continues its venture to promote research development on virtual platforms. High school students from all across the country will have the chance to participate in the event and win awards and generous prizes.
With the theme “NAUTILUS: Diving into the Depths of the Filipino Youth Potential,โ the event serves to provide an opportune platform for the youth to showcase their prowess on research for the betterment of the scientific community and our country in the present and future. Just like the resilient and timeless deep-sea creature of which the theme is inspired by, the nautilus, Research Fair 2022 appreciates our collective and unwavering aspiration to discover and pave ways for new bodies of scientific knowledge across the vast, unknown expanse of the world and the universe, and thus establish inclusive programs to manifest such appreciation.
Research Fair continues on providing students a platform to present their scientific discoveries and innovations through the Research Competition. They are also given the opportunity to participate in value-adding seminars and workshops in the Youth Science Convention, including a Case Study Competition on mitigating the transmission of SARS-CoV 2 through the development of accessible, applicable, and sustainable products and programs. Participants can also compete with one another to test their scientific knowledge and abilities in the National Science Conquest.
With its humble beginnings in 2001 as a one-day event with just 10 research entries, Research Fair has grown through the years until its expansion to become a three-day event in 2010. The success of the Research Fair in the previous years proves the eventโs commitment to lively professionalism and service for the Filipino people.
