It may not be a secret, but a report has confirmed it: the Philippines has one of the worst LTE speed and coverage in the world.

In a February 2016 report by Open Signal, the leading source of insight into the coverage and performance of operators worldwide, the Philippines was ranked as the fourth lowest coverage by country and the seventh slowest coverage by country.

In terms of coverage, the Philippines has an average coverage of 43%, slightly higher than Ecuador and Costa Rica’s 41% and Sri Lanka’s 39%.

The countries with the highest LTE coverage are South Korea with  97%, Japan with 90%, Hong Kong with 86%, Kuwait with 85%, and the Netherlands with 84%.

As for speed, the country has an average speed of 6 mbps, at par with Bolivia and Puerto Rico, and slightly higher than Pakistan’s 4 mbps , Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, and Iran’s 3 mbps.

The countries with the fast LTE speeds are Singapore with 37 mbps, New Zealand with 29 mbps, Hungary and Israel with 28 mbps, and South Korea with 27 mbps.

According to the report:

We’re seeing a much greater number of ultrafast networks around the world. A year ago, an average 4G speed of 20 Mbps would have been a truly impressive feat, but today there are 15 countries and 52 individual networks that meet or exceed that mark.
