REBELDE FILM CAMP is the first and the pioneer in film camping in the country– a five-day unique jamboree of filmmakers and film lovers in a secluded place to learn the craft of filmmaking and celebrate the art of cinema. The Film Camp encompasses filmmaking workshops, teambuilding games, film screening, film competition, and a camp party.

Being the one which started the outdoor camping for filmmakers, Rebelde Film Camp has already invited icons and known names in Philippine Cinema to teach filmmaking such as Kidlat Tahimik, Ricky Lee, Antoinette Jadaone, Bianca Balbuena, Dan Villegas, Paul Soriano, to name a few. Styled in a unique outdoor setting, Rebelde has already taken its campers to the mountains of Antipolo, the beach waves of San Juan, and the heritage wonder of Banaue Rice Terraces for the past years. It has gathered more than two hundred filmmakers and film lovers from all over the country and abroad.

This year, Rebelde is aiming to take the Film Camp to a whole new level with a bigger scope and braver goal.

Rebelde is bringing the Film Camp to the world-class islands of Caramoan in the only 4-star resort in the region, the Tugawe Cove Resort on July 5-9, 2017. The Camp is assembling important figures in Philippine Cinema to lead the Camp. Iconic actress, Cherie Gil will be the Mentor in the Acting class, award-winning Adolfo Alix Jr. will teach Directing, veteran director Jose Javier Reyes will lead screenwriting, Lee Briones-Meily is the mentor for Cinematography, FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra will give a lecture on blurring the lines between mainstream and independent cinema, and NYC Chair Aiza Seguerra to hold a talk about the role of films in Filipino youth. Rebelde also invited The Voice Philippines reggae singer Kokoi Baldo and band Jahcoustic to perform in the Camp.

To culminate the Film Camp, all Campers will be challenged to make their short films and will be live-judged on the last night of the Camp. Many big awards and prizes are at stake for the Campers such as the all-expense paid trip to Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, Scholarship to Brillante Mendoza workshop, Scholarship to the 2018 edition of Rebelde Film Camp, a film production contract, to name a few.

Also for this season, Rebelde Film Camp has partnered with some of the best companies and brands in film, filmmaking, and travel. This is the second year of partnership with Power Mac Center, and the first with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, A Space, Merrell, and Coleman.

Rebelde Film Camp is an experience like no other. It has built a filmmaking community that is made of storytellers but most of all, are dreamers. As the organization wants to instigate a community that inspires to keep the Philippine Cinema alive and growing. Rebelde is a revolution in the making.

The Film Camp is organized by Rebelde, a Philippine-based community of movers who makes films and film-related events with a goal to inspire the rise of a new generation of Filipino filmmakers. For four years, Rebelde has connected a lot of filmmakers and film lovers from all over the country creating a diverse community of artists.

If you are an aspiring filmmaker or has a story you want to tell to the world, Rebelde Film Camp is your perfect kick-start to build the foundation of your career.
