During the Cannes Film Festival held last Monday, the Twilight saga actress Kristen Stewart was seen ascending the staircase barefoot after removing her black Christian Louboutin pumps, according to TIME.

It was also reported by the same website that she has been open about her views on the red carpet’s heels-only policy for women.
“It’s just like you simply cannot ask me to do something that you are not asking him [to do]. I get the black-tie thing but you should be able to do either version—flats or heels,” she mentioned in a roundtable discussion last year, according to Marie Claire.

“There’s definitely a distinct dress code right, people get very upset at you if you don’t wear heels or something, whatever,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
According to Independent, the 28-year-old actress is also “on the panel for this year’s competition jury at Cannes, alongside the likes of Cate Blanchette and Ava Duvernay”.
