The President has declared December 26, 2017, and January 2, 2018, no work and classes respectively.
According to memorandum circular no.37 dated December 13, 2017, and signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, in order to give employees and students full opportunity to celebrate the Yuletide season, the President has decided to proclaim the days after Christmas and New Year, a holiday.
By the way, this announcement is for government employees and public schools only. This memorandum doesn’t count for private-owned companies unless they decide otherwise.
This will give more time to bond and wrap each other with warm hugs. Hopefully, even privately-owned companies will follow through.
