No matter how much fun you’re having under the sun, the heat of this season is not a joke, especially when it comes to our pets. Remember that time you wore a sweater to work because you thought it would be a cold day but it turned out otherwise? Thatโs how our pets are feeling right now. The only difference is that they canโt take their clothing off to cool down.
Sure, they look cute and super cuddly with all those fluffy furs, but during the summer season, the heat they are feeling are twice, or maybe more, than what we are feeling.
And so, it’s extremely vital that we make sure that our furry friends stay cool. Here are four simple tips on how to help them beat the heat.
4. TRY OFFERING THEM COLD WATER
Whether you just got home from walking in the street or just sitting at home, this heat just makes you always crave for a cold beverage. Similar to our pets, a bowl of cold water could help regulate their body temperature. You can also try offering them a different treat this summer by giving them ice cubes to nibble on.
3. PAY A VISIT TO THE VET/PET GROOMING SALON
Yes, your pet sure looks more lovable and cuddlier with all the fur, but since it is the season of skin showing, why donโt you let your pet in on some of that action as well? An untimely visit to your local groomer can make a significant improvement on how your pet will manage through the warm days ahead. Think of it like changing your pets’ clothes from a sweater to a sando.
2. PUT THEM UNDER THE SHADE
For pets who are not allowed inside the house, make it your duty to place your pets in a shaded area where they can stay when the sun’s heat is too much for them to bear. This will also provide useful during those unexpected rain showers.
1. BATHE THEM MORE OFTEN
Some of our furry friends are not very fond of taking baths, and this may take a little more effort from pet parents. But hey, it is one of the most effective ways to help our pets cool down. If you just donโt have the time to do a full bath, you can give them a sponge bath instead.
