The quarantine may have us feeling bored and excited to go out when the pandemic is over. But while we’re at home, we should spend it being grateful that we’re with our loved ones. That’s what we realized when we read Chito Miranda’s caption on Instagram.

On the platform, the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist opened up about how COVID-19 changed things for him and his family. For him, the band’s gigs stopped and the restaurants he is part owner of were forced to close to follow quarantine guidelines. Those that remain operational aren’t earning but they stay open to give employees their salary.

However, he’s looking at the bright side of things.

Miranda said, “Di man ako kumikita ngayon ng todo-todo, araw araw ko namang kasama ang pamilya ko. Sobrang healthy din ako ngayon kasi I sleep and wake up early, regularly. Mas healthy din yung diet ko ngayon kasi lutong bahay ako everyday, hindi tulad ng dati na halos araw araw fast-food because we’d always be on the road. Mas relaxed din si Neri ngayon kasi nandito lang ako sa bahay palagi, at di sya nag-aalala sa safety ko, kasi syempre mas relatively safe dito sa bahay, compared sa kapag biyahe ako ng biyahe.”

[“I may not be earning a lot but I’m with my family every day. I’m healthy now because I sleep and wake up early, regularly. My diet is healthier because I eat homemade food every day, not like before when I would eat fast food almost every day because we’d always be on the road. Neri is also more relaxed now because I’m always at home. She’s not worried about my safety, because of course the house is relatively safer compared to constant traveling.”]

He ended his post by saying, “Our current situation is far from ideal, but we still have a lot to be thankful for. Let us always remind ourselves to count our blessings.”
