That’s all we could say after Mathew Custodio took to Instagram to write a sweet message for his girlfriend, Celeste Cortesi, after she took home the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
Custodio is a player for the Philippine Azkals.
He began with “My queen.”
Custodio added, “April 30, 2022. — An evening we will cherish forever!! To see you with the Crown on that stage gave us all extreme chills.. you were stunning! On behalf of everyone else that had known her before she began the official journey for the Miss Universe; we’ve always known she was bound for the Crown.”

He also said, “We’ve seen her Grow, we’ve seen her inspire the people she meets not just by words and actions. But by simply carrying her values, her upbringing, she keeps her feet on the ground, she stands consistently true on honesty, loyalty, and perseverance. As crazy as this may sound, we’ve witnessed the Universe align towards you. You are a magical human being and you were raised to do good things. You didn’t have to be a panelist nor a front-row judge to see that she possesses the attributes of a true, regal queen.”
The athlete ended the note with a personal message. He said, “On a personal level, I feel very blessed to be loved by you. Like a mother’s love, your love is a constant reminder that there is a greater meaning and purpose in our lives. I cannot wait for our country and the whole world to feel the love you are about to share. It needs it.”
Cortesi was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines last April 30.
Aside from winning the crown, Cortesi also took home the Best in Swimsuit, Miss Photogenic, Frontrow Best Arrival Look, Miss Avana, and the Miss Aqua Boracay awards.
The latest titleholder is a 24-year-old Filipino-Italian model. She has a Filipina mother and an Italian father and was born on December 15, 1997, in Rome, Italy. This, however, is not her only pageant win as she was also crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2018. Cortesi has modeled for fashion shows both in Italy and the Philippines.
