On December 27 (US time), Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher passed away after suffering from a heart attack mid-flight. She was 60.

The news was a shock, as her brother revealed that she was “out of emergency” after the attack.

But eight years ago, Fisher already had an idea for her obituary. In her 2008 memoir Wishful Drinking, she recounted a story that inspired her to come up with an obituary. And it involved the white dress she wore as Princess Leia in Star Wars and an unwieldy bra.

In the book, she said, “George comes up to me the first day of filming, and he takes one look at the dress and says, ‘You can’t wear a bra under that dress.’”

When she asked why, he responded, “‘Because … there’s no underwear in space.’ You go to space and you become weightless. So far so good, right? But then your body expands??? But your bra doesn’t — so you get strangled by your own bra.”

Which led her to her eventual obituary, “Now I think that this would make for a fantastic obit — so I tell my younger friends that no matter how I go, I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.”

In the end, she didn’t wear a bra during filming, and relied on gaffer’s tape instead.
