Re-live your childhood memories this August with “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure”

You might remember laughing hard in the theater back in 2005, when animated film Madagascar first hit the cinemas around the world. The Dreamworks-produced animated movie tells the story of Alex the lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe who are all used to living in New York’s Central Park Zoo.

After a series of misunderstandings, the four, together with penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private ended up in the real world—the wild.

There they met a pack of lemurs, led by King Julien XIII, and eventually started a new phase in their lives.

The story’s main conflict revolves around whether they will be able to survive the wild, or if they will eventually find their way back to the zoo.

Atlantis Theatrical gave life to these beloved characters once again through a musical stage play. The production remained true to the original story while making sure to keep up with the movie’s theme. “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” is still about friendship with lots of funny antics, but now with more songs, dancing, and of course, experienced theater actors wearing cute and on-point costumes.

“Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” is perfect to watch with the kids, or even with the whole family. The show’s comedic timing will make you laugh again and again, while the musical’s songs will make you “like to move it, move it,” whatever age you may be.

“Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” is currently showing at the Maybank Performing Arts Theater at the BGC Arts Center in Bonifacio Global City until August 18.
