Rastro offers a wide variety of small bites of hot or cold appetizers. They are super affordable (thank you, Rastro!) so that friends can order a bunch of stuff to try and share over a few drinks.

Gambas al Ananda  |   Chistorra
“Gambas al Ananda got it’s name from a little girl named Ananda who loves this tapas dish so much.” Well, I think this should be named Gambas al Everyone now since this seems to be everyone’s favorite among the tapas menu! It was really awesome, especially with the special aligue sauce. The Chistorra, on the other hand, is flown in from Spain. This is another popular dish that is a must-have on your tapas platter.

Bolitos Negros
Deep fried paella negra balls with crispy squid and served with house made aioli
Â
Croquetas de Chorizo
Fried potato balls mixed with Rastro’s homemade chorizo
Â
Tinapa Triangles  |   Huevos Rancheros
My husband enjoyed the tinapa triangles very much. It was like crab rangoon (cream cheese + crab), but the filling was tinapa 🙂 Another favorite was the huevos rancheros because I love munching on crunchy shoestring potatoes :p Don’t forget to ask for them to serve it in bite-sized portions like this, complete with home made chorizo, a perfect egg and garlic aioli.
Â
I forgot what this was called but it was like Spanish bruschetta pizzas – (left) homemade chorizo and manchego cheese, (right) sliced of semi-cured manchego cheese with dried Spanish ham (Jamon Serrano). I could finish a whole platter of this. It was that good!
Â
Aside from good tapas, Rastro also serves main dishes such as paella and their famous pollo iberico. So if you’re hungry, Rastro is prepared to fill your tummies.
Â
Paella Catalana  |  Paella Negra
Â
Paella Catalana is the house specialty – saffron rice with mussels, clams, prawns, chicken, pork and Spanish chorizo.
Rastro’s Paella Negra consists of squid ink rice filled with mussels and fish fillets topped with aioli sauce.
Â
Iberian Chicken
Rastro‘s Iberian Chicken is the perfect partner with the paella. This is marinated in olive oil, spices and whole garlic cloves for up to 36 hours and roasted with baby potatoes. The chicken was tender and flavorful, but I liked eating those soft garlic bites more with my rice :p

And what about desserts?! Does “Creme Brulee Turon” sound good to you? It tastes even better!
Â
Turrones Pastor
Creme brulee wrapped up and fried! I think I’m in love ♥♥♥
Â
Triple Chocolate Silk
If you are a chocolate lover, then you should try Rastro’s best selling triple chocolate silk. It is made with a layer of white chocolate, two layers of unsweetened chocolate and an oreo crust. Go ahead, it’s okay to indulge with sweets! Besides, glucose is known to be the only fuel used by the brain. It’s a necessity! :p
