Rachelle Ann Go and Miss Saigon Win Awards in Broadway World UK

Rachelle Ann Go is currently starring as Fantine in the West End production of Les Miserables, but the Filipino singer is still receiving accolades for her work as Gigi van Tranh in Miss Saigon.

Go received the Best Feature Actress award at the Broadway World UK/West End Awards. Her Filipino co-stars Eva Noblezada and Jon-Jon Briones also won awards, for Best Leading Actress and Best Leading Actor in a New Production of a Musical, respectively.

Aside from the three awards, Miss Saigon also won Best Choreography in a New Production of a Musical, Best Costume Design in a New Production of a Play or Musical, Best Direction of a New Production of a Musical, Best Featured Actor in a New Production of a Musical, Best Musical Direction (West End), Best Scenic Design in a New Production of a Play or Musical, Best Sound Design in a New Production of a Play or Musical, and Understudy of the Year in any production of a Play or Musical. The musical won a total of 11 awards.

Miss Saigon follows the story of Kim (first played by Lea Salonga) and her American lover Chris amidst the Vietnam War.
