PUP Power Impact Wins FIRST EVER “Do The Calbeats” Dance Contest!

Summer is literally far from over! These dance crews just brought the heat back on-stage.

Several university dance crews bust out their moves on the dancefloor with the Dance to the Calbeats intercollegiate dance competition at the Trinoma Activity Center yesterday, June 10, 2017.

All 7 dance crews namely: University of the Philippines Manila’s Indayog Dance Varsity, Adamson University CAST, De La Salle University’s LSDC Street, University of the East’s Extreme Squad, Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ Power Impact Dancers, and University of Santo Tomas’ Project Pax, battled it out for Calbee’s first ever dance competition and the launch of #DoTheCalBeats online dance challenge. Each group showcased its piece as a culmination of weeks of hard work and practice.

In the end, PUP’s Power Impact Dancers brought home the bacon with an average score of 97%. All smiles for this team for being crowned as Grand Champion and receiving a cash prize of P70k!

The UE Extreme Squad won 1st runner-up.

Meanwhile, UP Manila Indayog Dance Varsity landed in third place.

Actress and dancing sensation Yassi Pressman was also there, who also dished out some sweet moves of her own. The bubbly Yassi, who is also Jack ‘n Jill Calbee’s ambassador, said that just like the #PotatoPros, she also has her own exciting “flavors” — from being sweet to spunky and adventurous — and that there is a Calbee snack suited to each mood!

To join, participants can choose to go solo or dance in a group with a maximum of five members. They must video-record their best dance covers of Jack ‘n Jill Calbee’s “Konnichi-woah” jingle; post this publicly on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the caption “I/We just made our own dance cover of the #DoTheCalBeats Honey Butter! Can you top this? #PotatoPros”; and tag Jack ‘n Jill Calbee on your posts to get spotted by the #PotatoPros.
