PSA: Earthquake Drill Is Set on Sept. 28 in Laguna

The West Valley Fault MMDA Earthquake Ad Looks Like an Apocalyptic Movie

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) will be heading another simultaneous earthquake drill on September 28, Wednesday, in Brgy. San Francisco, Biñan, Laguna.

This is in continuation of the government’s effort to prepare for “the big one”.

The drill will be used by the government to assess prepared for a magnitude 7.2 earthquake.

Laguna was chosen as the venue for the earthquake drill because the government considers Region 4-A as a backup emergency operation center after Region 3. However, Laguna is also affected by the West Valley Fault, which traverses Cavite and Marikina.

Those who will join the earthquake drill are encouraged to use the hashtag “Pagyanig” when posting on social media.

The earthquake drill will start at 9AM.
