Amazon Prime Video surprised its Filipino audience at the start of August when it announced that it is expanding its local content and collaborating with local production companies and celebrities, beginning with its first endorser Anne Curtis.
Prime Video formally launched last August 9 at The Fifth at Rockwell, Makati City, and revealed a slew of titles that are coming to the platform: namely new Amazon Original “Comedy Island: Philippines,” “Big Night” starring Christian Bables and directed by Jun Robles Lana, “How To Love Mr. Heartless” starring Sue Ramirez, and “Whether The Weather Is Fine (Kun Maupay Man It Panahon)” starring Daniel Padilla.
The Philippines will also enjoy exclusive Korean and anime titles, such as “Nothing Serious,” a romantic film featuring Jeon Jong-seo, Son Seok-gu and Gong Min-jung, “Toy Soldiers: Fake Men 2 The Complete” featuring Julien Kang, “Kimetsu no Yaiba: Demon Slayer,” and “Jujutsu Kaisen 0.”
Of course, there’s already a great selection of Hollywood movies and series that should be added to your binge-watch list like “No Time to Die,” “The Boys,” “The Terminal List,” “The Good Doctor” seasons one to five, “Thirteen Lives” which based on the true story of how a Thai soccer team was rescued from the Tham Luang cave during an unexpected rainstorm, and the highly anticipated “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” that’s premiering on September 2.
Prime Video Philippines will be available for an introductory price of PHP 149/month with a seven-day free trial. This price will only be applicable until December 31, 2023.
