Here’s something to look forward to: Jose Ma. “Joey” Concepcion, President Rodrigo Duterte’s presidential adviser on entrepreneurship, is confident that the enhanced community quarantine will be lifted on May 15.
The quarantine was extended after its original date of April 13, then April 30.
Concepcion told Dobol B sa News TV, “We want the ECQ to be lifted on May 15. I think ‘yung chance na mangyari ‘yan mataas. I’m confident na mangyayari ‘yan. I believe we will lift the ECQ.” [“We want the ECQ to be lifted on May 15. I think the chance is high. I’m confident that it will happen. I believe we will lift the ECQ”]
He added that China, where the coronavirus was first detected in the Hubei province, was only under quarantine for two months.
Concepcion added, “This is only my guess. I’m not saying it’s 100% [but] I believe it will happen.”
To encourage the lifting of the quarantine, he believes that the government should ramp up its mass testing program to 28,000 tests per day.
