The world is currently scrambling to find a vaccine to the coronavirus or COVID-19, and President Rodrigo Duterte is giving a great incentive for anyone who can find one: P10 million.
This was announced by Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, who told reporters at a Palace virtual press briefing, “Inanunsyo po ng Pangulo na siya ay magbibigay ng pabuya hanggang P10 milyon sa kahit sinong Pilipino na makakadiskubre ng vaccine laban sa COVID-19.”
[“The president has announced that he is giving a reward of up to P10 million for any Filipino who can discover the vaccine against COVID-19.”]
Additionally, the president will also give a “substantial grant” to the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital to develop a vaccine.
As of today, the Philippines reports 140 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 6,599. There are also 41 new recoveries with a total of 654 and nine new deaths with a total of 437.
