Pops Fernandez woke up on the morning of June 28, Sunday, to her social media account being tagged in “countless videos.” Though it confused her at first, she quickly realized why.
Apparently, fans were greeting her on her wedding anniversary with ex-husband Martin Nievera, two decades since their separation. In light of this, Pops penned a lengthy message on Instagram to share her thoughts about all those commemorating this once special date.

“I woke up this morning and I was tagged in countless videos… oh [it’s] June 28!!!” she began on her post.
“Hehehe thank you to all who still remember this day.. thank you for your support, love and understanding. Thank you that even with our imperfections, you still love us,” she continued. “You have witnessed us fall in love…. fall apart …. mend our wounds … and yes, grow up…. It used to pain me to remember this day but now it helps me realize all the blessings and wonderful memories I am thankful for.”
Despite having been wed for 14 years before their annulment in 2000, it seems that both Pops and Martin have long moved on from their marriage and are now good friends who can look back on the memories of their past love with nothing but joy and gratitude.
“I thank you that it has helped me understand the many aspects of love…. and that thru it all…. life goes on with God’s grace and love…. now, @martinnievera and I will always share this day with the ones who never forget,” she added. “Happy June 28!!!! May this day bring a whole new meaning to love.”
Soon after she shared her post, Martin wrote the following reply in the comments: “This will always be a special day. No matter what we are a team with two beautiful boys. Thank you for remembering this day as a special time in your lives too.”

Pops and Martin first met in 1982 when they hosted Penthouse Live! together. They married in 1986 and had two sons, Ram and Robin.
