Got nowhere to go this summer? Look no further, cause here in When In Manila, we got your back.
In search of something magnificent, our feet took us to Currimao, Ilocos Norte to a place called Playa Tropical Resort.
This place is just pure paradise. They offer the most exquisite rooms, delicious food, very fine beach, and a one of a kind view. Not to mention their most polite employees. That’s why this place attracts celebrity guests often.
They have different kinds of rooms for all occasions, including these astonishing villas perfect for family getaways, barkada trips, or team building.
They also have a play room that you can use for free. You can play pool, table tennis, foosball, or just chill out.
On the other hand, the food they serve at their in-house restaurant, Cafe Amarra, is pure delight.
Bagnet and Poqui-Poqui are two Ilocano signature dishes. Don’t ever miss this if you’re visiting Ilocos Norte, and be sure to get them at Playa Tropical.
Got left-overs? Not to worry. Cottages in Playa Tropical lie on top of a giant fish pond. You can feed the fish with your left-over rice or bread. A very relaxing experience, and entertaining at the same time.
Their events center is right beside the infinity pool. A lot of weddings have been held here, according to the manager of the resort.
The beach in Playa may not have white sand, but once you get in the water, you’ll be surprised how clear it is. The beach is not that deep and descends far from the shore. That’s why you can swim freely with no worries of drowning. Everything in this place is just perfect.
Playa’s location in Currimao is perfect for sunset viewing. No words can express how elegant the sunset is in Playa. Don’t believe me? Here’s my raw shot of the sunset beside Playa’s famous gazebo.
Playa also offers a whole lot more than accommodation. Did I mention that they offer free massage service? Yes, that’s right. Free. Ask for Ate Jelo at the front desk. Her Solana Signature Massage is just remarkable.
They also offer tours to the whole of Ilocos. Just ask the personnel at the front desk, or ask for Kuya Neil. They will take you from the vintage streets of Calle Crisologo to the world class beaches of Pagudpud.
Visit Playa this summer. I assure you, you won’t regret it.
