Pixy Cosmetics: Affordable Japanese Makeup that is Sure to Become Every Filipina’s BFF
Pixy Cosmetics is an affordable makeup from Japan and now, it is finally here in the Philippines.
What is cute, flatters the Filipina skin tone and is super affordable? It’s Pixy Cosmetics, a Japanese makeup brand under the Mandom Corp. (you might be familiar with their Bifesta Cleansing Lotion). Beauty addicts will be thrilled to know that Pixy Cosmetics is now within their reach in terms of price and accessibility. Korean Fashion is hot, but the Japanese Kawaii trend is also making a blaze here in the Philippines!
Pixy Cosmetics Philippines launch event at the White Space Manila on August 6th.
During the launch at White Space Manila on August 6th, former Shu Uemura Chief Makeup Artist Ms. Xeng Zulueta said that Pixy Cosmetics helps “…to create a realistic and more human version of you.” She adds that “Less is more.” and insists you don’t need Kim Kardashian contouring when it comes to everyday makeup. We learned a lot of makeup tips during her demo, too. See more snippets about the event in the video at the end of this post.
Ms. Xeng Zulueta demonstrated how to create the Tokyo Glam (Left) and Tokyo Kawaii (Right) using Pixy Cosmetics.
I am a makeup addict myself and I love to collect lipstick for my color therapy. Pixy Cosmetics happens to have a collection of gorgeous Japanese makeup shades that come in super cute packaging. I was actually shocked when it was revealed toward the end of the event that these Japanese makeup products only range from P200 to P475. **GASP!** This is the reason why Pixy Cosmetics is my new makeup BFF.

No matter what shades you pick from Pixy Cosmetics, they are sure to bring out the real you instead of a mask. It gets more exciting from this point on as we will be giving you swatches and first impressions. The first product I began to (ab)use was the Silky Fit Lipstick Satin in Pinkish Peach. The color is fresh and sexy and great for everyday use; I even wear it to bed! I love my BFF so much! The semi-matte and matte lipsticks are also a great addition, since they don’t feel dry on the lips. In fact, they feel more like a creamy lipstick with a matte finish.

Whitening Two Way Cake – Golden Beige
Ultimate Makeup Cake – Natural Buff
Blush – Brown Tea
Eyeshadow Duo – Sorrel Brown
The Waterproof Volumizing Mascara… oooh-la-lah! The second coat made my lashes super gorgeously volumized! The blush shade Brown Tea is an earthy-coral color that really flatters my skin tone. The eyeshadow duo Sorrel Brown, on the other hand, is a perfect set for creating a smoky look. For daytime wear, I just use the lighter shade on the left.
I’m glad I have a new BFF. Our relationship is working pretty well.
Try their Ultimate Makeup Cake in Natural Buff, too. It’s a two-way cake that can be used to cover up blemishes and doubles as a concealer when used wet. The benefits from using this are the SPF 20 PA++, Jojoba Oil, and light-reflecting particles that give skin a glowing look instead of a chalky white color.
These are some of the products on display during the launch event. They are nothing short of awesome.
