The animated film “Inside Out” won an Oscar for best original screenplay.
Behind the film, a Pinoy co-directed it. Ronnie del Carmen is the first Filipino to co-direct a Pixar film and bag a nomination for Oscar.
Malacañang recognized this achievement with Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. saying, “We extend our congratulations to Ronnie del Carmen, co-director of the Oscar award winning animated feature film, ‘Inside Out.'”
He added, “His achievement exemplifies the talent and creative genius of the Filipino that continues to reap global recognition.”
Del Carmen, who is originally from Cavite City, dedicated the win to the Philippines.
