Miss Universe queen Pia Wurtzbach took time to express her thoughts and gratitude for the simple things, after being in quarantine helped her realize what she has been taking for granted all this time.
“I’m a city girl and I love the fast paced lifestyle. I got used to living in cities with tall buildings and I have to admit, I was never really crazy about sunsets, sunrises or anything with a view. Parang sakin kasi araw araw namang nangyayari yan so bakit ko tititigan? [To me, these happen every day anyway, so why would I take the time to watch them?]” she admitted in an Instagram post.

“Pero nitong quaratine parang sobrang naappreciate ko na sya. Ngayon naiintindihan ko na [But this quarantine, I came to appreciate them. I understand them now],” she continued. “Naappreciate ko na mag hiking, naappreciate ko na yung feeling ng araw sa mukha ko, yung pag lubog ng araw, paglalangoy sa dagat (kahit na di naman ako marunong lumangoy) basta LAHAT. [I started to appreciate hiking, the feeling of the sun on my face, the sunsets, swimming in the ocean (even though I don’t know how to swim) just EVERYTHING.]”
She added that she has now gained a renewed appreciation for nature and fully understands why others tend to surround themselves in it.
“Yung nature sobrang naappreciate ko na at naiintindihan ko na kung ano yung nakikita ng ibang tao sa kanya. Sobrang stress reliever pala talaga nya [I have now learned to really appreciate nature and I understand now what others see in it],” she wrote.
“Alam kong napaka swerte ko na maexperience ito kaya sobrang grateful ako. May mga magandang naituro rin pala itong covid sakin like going back to basics. Iba na tingin ko sa mga sunsets ngayon. [I know I’m very lucky to experience this which is why I’m grateful. Apparently, COVID taught me good things like going back to the basics. I see sunsets differently now.]”
