Pia Wurtzbach couldn’t resist responding to an angry comment she received on her Instagram post regarding her chosen career path and her decision not to enter showbiz.
The comment in question complained about how Pia was mainly doing pictorials lately and vlogging about her pageant experiences despite the number of years that have already passed since she took home the Miss Universe crown. The netizen urged Pia to do movies and television shows just like Kylie Versoza, who won Binibining Pilipinas International 2016 and has since transitioned to acting.
In response, Pia clarified that she is happy for her beauty queen friends who found careers in the showbiz industry but admitted that it is not for her.
“Just so you guys know, I’m very happy for my friends who are doing so well in showbiz! Totoo yan! (This is true!) But for me it’s not a personal goal anymore! I’m so happy and grateful for the blessings I have in my life now,” she wrote. “I found the perfect balance of doing what I love and being happy in it. I’ve been in charge of my own career and managing it myself for a while now and I’m very happy in the direction that I’m going.”
She also urged people to stop “comparing and pitting women against each other” especially when she’s content with where she is in life at the moment.
“Lahat ng work ko na ginagawa ko yung gusto ko talaga at naeenjoy ko pa personal life ko,” she added. “Kaya wag ka nang magalit. Tsaka tama na tong comparing and pitting women against each other. 2021 na at may pandemic na tapos stuck parin tayo sa ganitong mindset? Tama na, di nakakaganda.”
