In the past, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield posted a snapshot of Manila at night taken from outer space. It was part of the series of photos of cities from the International Space Station (ISS) in 2012 that he has posted.
The photo may be old but it resurfaced again this year as American astronaut Scott Kelly recently returned from a year-long mission to the ISS.
On Twitter, Hadfield previously posted Manila as a brightly-lit metropolis with major roads snaking through it. He captioned it: “Tonight’s Finale: At long last – Manila, capital of the Philippines, delicately shining in the night.”
On Thursday, astronaut Ignacio Magnani posted another photo of Manila taken from outer space.
