It has always been the motivation at PHINMA to make Filipinos’ lives better. For 60 years, the company has continuously strived hard to achieve that goal by creating, managing, and growing successfully-run and profitable businesses, the benefits of which will result in the improvement and uplifting of lives.
PHINMA, a proudly Filipino conglomerate, will be celebrating 60 fruitful years of making Filipinos’ lives better in 2017, and to kick off a year-long celebration, the Group hosted a simultaneous one-day outreach program Friday, August 12 in various areas of Metro Manila as well as in other parts of the country with more than 1,800 members of the PHINMA community including students and residents as volunteers.
Giving back and reaching out to the community is at the core of PHINMA’s existence. As at the journey continues at 60 years, PHINMA assures that enough attention and care is given to various sectors of society through efforts in preserving the environment, contributing to the continuous development of education, and developing communities.
“We are very proud with the turnout of the project and we are excited to have this event be the start of our year long celebration for our 60th anniversary. Reaching out to the people and doing everything we can to try and make their lives better while building our nation is at the heart of why the company exists. Expect more of these efforts as we continue on while looking ahead to our next milestone,” Mr. Ramon R. del Rosario Jr., PHINMA Corporation’s President & CEO said.
The PHINMA-wide outreach program consisted of three categories – environmental preservation, community building and community development. Under the environmental aspect, the company held several activities including reforestation programs in Bataan, Bulacan, Calamba and Pampanga. PHINMA was also able to plant more trees in lieu of the preservation of the environment in Gabaldon, Misamis Oriental, Pangasinan, Cebu, and some Mangrove growing efforts in Iloilo, Tacloban and Bacolod.
The Philippines, being recognized all over the world for its pristine beaches and other remarkable tourist spots and landmarks, will continue to be one of the best travel destinations in the world and PHINMA also participates in its development.
The one-day outreach program also included coastal clean-ups in various areas like in Cebu and La Union. Tourist spot rehabilitation efforts were also simultaneously done thanks to the Group’s hospitality arm, Microtel, in Acropolis, Baguio, Batangas, Boracay, Cabanatuan, Cavite, Davao, General Santos, MOA, Palawan, South Forbes, Tarlac and in TechnoHub.
PHINMA also highly focuses on the development of the community driven by the hope that the Filipino people will be enabled to better their lives and achieve their dreams, and, in the end, contribute to building an even stronger nation.
In light of this, the outreach program encompassed housing build projects and storytelling activities in Quezon City and vertical gardening and house painting efforts at the Quezon City circle and Pasig City, respectively. Traffic assistance was also successfully provided in Davao, Butuan, General Santos and Zamboanga. To round out the day-long outreach, PHINMA also reached out through medical missions in Cagayan de Oro and Davao.
The one-day affair is but a snapshot of what PHINMA has already done to create better lives for Filipinos in its first 60 years, and it is also a firm commitment of what the Group aims to achieve in the next 60.
