Philippines Wins DoTA 2 Gold In SEA Games 2019

The Sibol-Philippines team has claimed yet another esports gold in the 30th Southeast Asian Games. Following the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team’s win on Sunday night, the Philippines’ DoTA 2 team has secured their own gold medal.

Mc Nicholson ”Mc” Villanueva, John Anthony ”Natsumi” Vargas, Jun ”Bok” Kanehara, Marvin Salvador ”Boomy” Rushton, Bryle Jacob ”CML” Alvizo, Van Jerico ”Van” Manalaysay and James Erice ”Erice” Guerra make up the team behind the milestone win.

Sibol earned a 3-2 victory over Thailand after an exciting game. While the Philippines claimed the first match in the race-to-3 duel, Thailand quickly caught up in the next game and leveled the score to 1-1. It was a tension-filled race as Game 3 brought it to 2-1 in favor of the Philippines, but Game 4 drew it to a tie once again.

The fifth and final game decided the championship for Sibol-Philippines. After initially falling behind in terms of kills, the Filipino team was revitalized midway into the game and made up for the lost time.
