According to Wethrift, the points in their study were assigned based on the following system: 3 points for titleholders, 2 points for first runners-up, and 1 point for second runners-up.
“The total number of points from each country was then aggregated to determine the most beautiful countries based on this criterion,” it emphasized.
Nick Drewe, beauty and lifestyle trend expert and CEO at Wethrift, commented, “International beauty pageants offer fascinating insights into how different countries approach and celebrate beauty. Venezuela, the USA, and the Philippines’ consistent success in producing titleholders reflects their strong cultural emphasis on these competitions. This data provides an interesting perspective on how various nations cultivate talent for these global stages.”
He then added, “Over the years, we’ve observed shifts in which countries dominate these pageants, mirroring changing global dynamics and evolving beauty standards worldwide. It’s notable that these competitions often have significant economic impacts, boosting tourism and related industries in the countries that regularly produce winners. While beauty pageants have faced criticism, they’ve also evolved to place greater emphasis on personal achievement, talent, and social impact. This study offers a unique lens through which we can examine cultural values and their global implications across different regions of the world.”
