Philippines Now Has 7106 Islands: PH Government Donates Island to China as Peace Offering #7106
The news had just come in: the Philippines now has #7106 islands instead of the previous 7107.
The Philippine Government says that though it may not be the popular decision and they are aware of the possible outbursts from the sensitive Filipino online community, they stated that they did this in order to show the world that the Philippines only wants peace.
“Para po ito sa kabutihan ng ating bansa, para wala na tayo makaaway at para masaya mga gobyerno ng ibang bansa,” (This was for the betterment of our country, so that we won’t have any enemies and so the foreign governments would be happy,)said another high ranking Philippine official.
The Philippines had long been in a tough situation with China claiming some of the islands that had always been part of Philippine territory. In an effort to diffuse tensions, and to help build better relationships for foreign trade, the Philippines decided to donate just one island.
“We have 7107 islands anyway and just one island won’t make that big of a difference,” said one Philippine government official.
The Philippines now proudly has #7106 islands
Early reports have said that the island was mostly uninhabited, except for a few tribes and tarsiers who were immediately flown to one of the other 7106 islands in the Philippine territory.
Further sources also say that China will be naming the island “Gou Li Bol” which is a Chinese phrase which roughly translates to “the strength of one’s mental character.”
