Philippines AirAsia Launches New Delicious “Santan Flavours of ASEAN” In-Flight Menu

Last weekend, I got invited by Philippines AirAsia and Vikings Luxury Buffet to join them in Hong Kong for a foodtrip in celebration of their Dine & Fly promo and for the launch of their new in-flight menu called “Santan – Flavours of ASEAN” to highlight the well-loved flavors our region is known for.

To further enhance customer experience while flying, Philippines Asia came up with fresh new items in their in-flight menu in addition to their classic offerings which I have personally learned to love over the years.

Here’s a look at my menu that day….

Let me tell you about what I had:

Spicy Beef Bulgogi: Saucy flavorful tender strips of Beef Bulgogi with rice. Highly satisfying, but I must say that the “anghang” level was a bit bitin for me.

Vegetarian Chickpea Curry: The curry was superb! Mmmmmm tasted so legit. I hope that aside from rice, they can offer roti as well to make the experience more authentic

If you feel like having a light snack, I highly suggest you go for their Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich. Imagine seasoned chicken chunks, sliced onions with pesto sauce between 2 thick focaccia bread slices.

Yum! Their Lemon Torte is also another new favorite! It’s not too sweet and comes with just the right amount of “tang.

” This is something that I will definitely hoard and take with me home like their choco chip cookies!

Aside from their Spicy Beef Bulgogi and Vegetarian Chickpea Curry, here are the other MUST TRY dishes:

Korean Chap Chae: An absolute Korean favorite! I was simply impressed because it tasted so good and authentic!

On the way back to Manila, I ordered Banoffee Pie for dessert! It was also good, but I must say, I liked their Lemon Torte better.

They also added new items in their beverage list such as Apple Juice….

… and WOW!! They even now have my favorite Chardonnay! OMGeeee!! So sosy!

Overall, I’m really happy with their new menu items as well as the new beverage additions. This whole new dining experience definitely made my journey more enjoyable. I never thought I could ever experience these while flying in a low-cost airline… with this, I believe I just fell in-love with AirAsia all the more. You see, what I love about this airline is that, the fares may be “cheap” but you get way more than what you pay for with the quality of service they provide…. oh and just FYI, AirAsia has been awarded BEST Low-Cost Airline in the World by Skytrax World’s Airline Awards for 7 years straight! Beat That!

This new menu will be available by the 2nd week of December and as for the prices, they cost around P200+ for the hot meals, while the desserts are available starting at only P80. I highly recommend you pre-book your meals to save up to 20% as compared to purchasing your meals on board.

Guests who have booked their flights without meals, meanwhile, can easily add them in via the ‘Manage My Booking’ option after logging in to www.airasia.com.
