Philippine Passports With A 10-Year Validity Will Start Next Year

If you’ve got an entire bucket list of places around the world you’ve always wanted to visit but you’re worried that you wouldn’t have the time or resources to do it before your passport expires, worry no more!

The Department of Foreign Affairs has finally released the implementing rules and regulations for the Act Extending the Validity of Philippine Passports (RA 10928), which says that there will be no other changes to the current passport, except its validity, which has been extended to 10 years for Filipinos aged 18 years old and above!

According to Malacañang, the 10-year passport validity will take place next year, January 1, 2018, and will come at no additional cost to passport holders and applicants.

Meanwhile, Filipino citizens under the age of 18 will be issued passports with a validity of five years.

The passport with 10-year validity is worth P950.
