“The Voice” is one of the most successful reality franchises in the Philippines, spawning different formats featuring kid and adult contestants for beloved audiences. Its latest version, “The Voice Teens”, is the first of its kind in the country, and one you should watch out for just because of the overflowing talent on the show.
One of the most memorable performances on the show to date is this “Sana Maulit Muli” cover, sung by teen contestants Heather Hawkins and Jeremy Glinoga for the Battle Rounds. Normally on the show, the Battle Round is where contestants face off in what is essentially a duet, and the coaches pick the better performer of the round afterward.
Yet the way Heather and Jeremy delivered the song, with soaring voices and beautiful harmonies, you’d forget that they were competing against each other.
Even more impressive is that the two sang the song in front of Lea Salonga, the artist who popularized it. And in flawless Tagalog, no less, considering that Jeremy grew up in the US and Heather is British.
