Pens N’ Brushes, the group behind the successful The Life Drawing Session Philippines, is launching another art event in partnership with the country’s leading bookstore and lifestyle destination, Fully Booked, dubbed as Portraits 360°.
Portrait drawing/painting has predominantly commemorated the rich and powerful in the past. However, after a while, it became more widespread for the middle-class, and today, portraitists are still engaged by political figures, groups, companies, and individuals to illustrate them as the subject. These portraits can be of individuals, couples, families, or group of friends, and can be made in different media including charcoal, pastel, pencil, oils, watercolor, and mixed media.
Portraits 360° aims to gather people from diverse backgrounds and offers them a chance to draw and be drawn. It is a casual platform where everyone can experience portrait sketching showcased in a carefree environment. The event will not only cater to artists alone but will also be open to everyone especially those who want to have portraits of their own. This artistic reciprocity is now possible through this kind of event where everybody can be the artist and the subject. Each set of models will last for 30 minutes and there will be a corner where artists can clip and display their artworks. The models, on the other hand, get to walk home with one free portrait of their own!
Portraits 360° will be debuting on 5th August 2017 at The Studio in Fully Booked Bonifacio Global City branch and will also be the very first event to be conducted there.
