Filmmakers from the Calabarzon region (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) are invited to submit their films for Pelikultura: The Calabarzon Film Festival 2014, which will be held on Feb. 26-28, 2014 at UP Los Baños.
This year’s festival theme continues last year’s celebration of a diverse and vibrant Calabarzon culture. In relation to this, there is a call for the region’s filmmakers to go back to their roots and tell their home stories rather than flock to the city and forget the stories that nurtured their imagination.
In addition, all film submissions for competition and exhibition may be shortlisted in the Calabarzon program in Cinema Rehiyon 2014, a national film festival of regional cinemas to be held in Cagayan De Oro. These chosen films will be screened along with other outstanding films from other regions. The filmmakers may also become official delegates (all expenses paid) to Cinema Rehiyon where they can meet their fellow regional filmmakers.
Deadline for entry submissions is EXTENDED to January 6, 2014.
